Council appoints David Gleaves as Springdale’s representative to zoning code revision committee

The Springdale City Council on June 4 appointed Council Member David Gleaves to serve as the council’s representative on the Zoning Code Revision Committee.

Council opened nominations for one council appointment to the committee; three council members — David Gleaves, Mr. Vanover and Mrs. Webster — were nominated. Council proceeded with a name vote; Mr. Gleaves received a plurality and was confirmed as the council’s appointee. The council president asked Mr. Gleaves to take a leadership role coordinating with administration, Planning Commission and the Board of Zoning Appeals when the committee convenes.

Council members discussed eligibility and the intent that the committee include one representative from each body (council, Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals). Miss Webster raised a separate question about catching up on matters discussed in a prior executive session; the president offered to address that offline.

Administration indicated the committee will include representatives from council, Planning Commission and the Board of Zoning Appeals and that staff will help with kickoff and process once all representatives are named.
