Commissioners award county fixed-route and paratransit contract to First Transit/Transdev

El Paso County’s commissioners on Monday approved awarding RFP 25-002 for fixed-route, ADA paratransit and dial-a-ride transit services to the highest-scoring firm, First Transit, Inc., doing business as Transdev Services of Lombard, Illinois.
Purchasing Agent Karen Davidson presented the recommendation and noted the procurement followed evaluation and review by the county’s evaluation committee and the El Paso Transportation Authority board (ETA). Purchasing staff said funds are available in the cited operating accounts.
Why it matters: The award covers county-procured transit operations for fixed-route and demand-response services important to county residents who rely on public transit and paratransit for access to employment, health care and other services. The contract moves operations to a new vendor under the county’s procurement process.
County staff indicated that Jose Landeros (operations) and ETA staff vetted operational details and will monitor vendor performance once the contract is in effect. The court approved the recommended award on a motion by Judge Samaniego and a second by Commissioner O'Guin.
