The Whitehouse City Council on May 27 authorized the city manager to execute an agreement with HEF Engineering to develop a standardized set of bid documents for future municipal construction projects.
Staff said the city has adopted several new engineering partners in the last year and found a lack of consistent bidding documents across project types. City staff recommended contracting HEF Engineering to prepare a standard packet the city can use across drainage projects, parking lots, sports complexes and similar municipal construction to reduce staff time and accelerate projects.
The agreement was not budgeted, staff said, and the city will fund the work from current-year fund balance. Council approved the motion unanimously.
