Paulding County board recognizes spring athletes from five high schools

The Paulding County School District honored its spring sport players of the year during the May 27 meeting.
Dr. Katie Anderson presented awards for individual sports and read player statistics while board members and coaches joined students for a group photograph. Honorees included Cade Cox (North Paulding High School, baseball), Carly Crist (East Paulding High School, girls golf), Brent Carmen (South Paulding High School, boys golf), Kylie Wilson (North Paulding, girls lacrosse), Anthony Coker (East Paulding, boys lacrosse), Izzy Allen (North Paulding, girls soccer), Shane Osborne (North Paulding, boys soccer), Arizona Jones (Hiram High, girls tennis; absent, award picked up by her mother), Carter Contractor (North Paulding, boys tennis), Shariah George (Hiram High, girls track) and Jairi/Jireh Williams (Hiram High, boys track).
Superintendent Steve Barnett and board members praised the athletes and noted the district celebrated more than 2,500 graduates across its five high schools the previous week. Coaches and athletic directors accompanied players to the dais for recognition and photos.
