Kaya Discovery Center developer moves forward after responding to TRC comments

Walton County’s Tactical Review Committee provisionally approved forwarding a minor development order for the Kaya Discovery Center sales office to the director after the applicant addressed outstanding comments.
The application, submitted by Jenkins Engineering, requests approval for a 3,150-square-foot temporary sales office and associated infrastructure on about 0.7 acres with future land use of mixed use and zoning of Small Neighborhood, located in District 5 on the north side of County Road 30A. Staff initially noted a number of outstanding planning and engineering labeling comments and that fire and environmental comments had not been received into the record.
Scott Jenkins of Genes Engineering (representing the applicant) later told the committee that the team had received and submitted the outstanding reviews and planned to respond to comments within a week. Tim (staff) recommended provisional approval and forwarding to the director to issue the development order. The committee moved, seconded and approved the recommendation by voice vote with an “aye” recorded. The development order remains subject to final administrative signoffs; staff said they would not sign the order until all comments are fully resolved.
