Berkeley County approves staff status changes and reappoints two to Development Authority

Those included a custodian appointment for Daniel Connor effective June 2, 2025 with an annual salary of $32,250; a job-class change for Crystal Peterson from peer recovery coach coordinator to Therapist I effective June 2 with no salary change; a change for Jess Lundblau from case manager to peer recovery coach coordinator with a salary increase from $50,676 to $60,000 effective June 2; and a promotion for Nathan Carnister from Deputy III to sergeant with a salary increase from $69,045 to $74,719, retroactive to May 12, 2025.
The commission also voted to reappoint Brad Close and Jason Barrett to the Berkeley County Development Authority. Commissioners made the motions and approved both reappointments by voice vote; no roll-call tally appears in the meeting record.
Commissioners discussed Close’s service as treasurer of the Development Authority and noted a planned leadership slate in which Close will serve as treasurer and another member will serve as vice president when current officers step down.
No additional formal actions, budget changes or conditions tied to the appointments were recorded in the minutes. The clerk’s office will reflect the effective dates and salary changes in employee records.
