Prosper ISD trustees canvass May 3 election, certify three winners

Trustees of the Prosper Independent School District canvassed the May 3 board election and declared the results at a special meeting May 13, 2025, approving a motion to certify the returns by a 5-0 vote.
Trustee Bill Beavers read the certified vote totals during the meeting in the Prosper ISD boardroom and announced the winners. The board declared incumbent Jordan Bridal elected to Place 1 (unopposed) with 3,862 votes; incumbent Kelly Cavender elected to Place 3 with 2,733 votes to Scott Bray’s 2,440; and incumbent Garrett Leaker elected to Place 6 with 2,826 votes to Janette Church’s 2,463.
The board took the action after no members of the public signed up to comment. The motion to canvass and declare the results passed unanimously; all five trustees present voted in favor. The trustees who voted were Mister Dial, Missus Dixon, Trustee Kelly Cavender, Mister Linker and Trustee Bill Beavers.
The special meeting opened with routine ceremonial items and closed shortly after the canvass; the board announced the time at adjournment as 7:03 p.m.
