Nueces County commissioners voted to authorize a six‑month renewal with 1Solution to allow the county to extract financial data from its existing 1Solution system as part of a planned migration to Workday.
County auditor and IT staff briefed the court on the need to recover data that previously failed to transfer at the end of an earlier implementation. Staff said the immediate objective is a defined extraction phase that will bring county-held 1Solution data onto a local server in a format suitable for transfer; that extraction phase was described in the meeting as a discrete, near‑term contract for 1Solution support and access.
Staff discussed additional Workday‑vendor tools — Prism and Workday Success Plans — that can ease the transfer and optimization inside Workday. County staff reported differing cost estimates for those optional tools: bundling Prism with Workday Success Plans would lower Prism’s separate price, while buying Prism standalone would be higher. Staff said they were not committing to the optional Workday tools at this time; the court approved the six‑month 1Solution renewal with the intent that county IT and the auditor complete the extraction phase before deciding on additional purchases.
Commissioners asked staff to continue work with the county’s consultant (Strata) and Workday representatives; county staff said Strata is already performing data‑ingestion work funded in a prior approved phase. The court approved the six‑month renewal in open session and directed staff to continue coordination on the migration steps and to report back to the court.
