Wright County names Charles Webb county surveyor; will take oath with recorder's office

The Wright County Board of Commissioners unanimously appointed Charles Webb as Wright County Surveyor Monday, formalizing his role after serving as interim following a retirement earlier this year.
County staff told the board Webb had led the survey department through "a lot of transition" after the retirement of the previous surveyor on Jan. 31 and had built strong relationships with staff. "Charles has proven to do a great job at his department," a county staff member said during the morning meeting. "We went through interviews a couple of weeks ago. I believe Charles is our best candidate to lead our county surveyors department into the future."
Commissioner Moyna moved to appoint Webb; Commissioner Holland seconded. The motion passed on a unanimous voice vote. County staff said Webb will take his oath of office with Tanya West in the recorder's office after the meeting.
Board members praised Webb's work. "You must be doing fantastic work," the board chair said during the appointment. Webb said only "Thank you" in response.
The appointment makes Webb the head of the county surveyor's office effective immediately, county staff said.
