Jim Wells County extends disaster declaration after severe storms; resource center and damage assessments planned

The Jim Wells County Commissioners Court voted May 15 to extend a disaster proclamation issued May 9 after severe weather damaged homes and property; the county opened a resource information center and will hold a one-day disaster assessment event May 21 at the county fairgrounds with state and nonprofit partners.
