Bradford library expands hours, launches maker space and summer programs

County library staff announced new hours, a maker space serving a three-county area, and a slate of summer reading and maker programs for children, teens and adults beginning in June.
Library staff told commissioners the Bradford County Public Library will begin new hours on May 17 and is developing a maker space intended to serve Bradford, Baker and Union counties.
"This is a project that's coming along in the future. It's gonna be an arts and technology space," the library spokesperson said, thanking county facilities staff for assistance preparing the site. The speaker described summer programming that runs from early June through July and includes arts and technology events, a neon glow painting kickoff, children's performances, pony rides, a video-game truck, and teen workshops such as a zombie special-effects makeup demonstration.
Staff said some programs require preregistration, that programming schedules are available at the library and online, and that circulation staff will provide public-services support including scanning, printing and notary services.
Library leadership asked commissioners to publicize the programs to county residents and noted several information sessions and monthly virtual orientations for prospective volunteers and participants.
