The Sumner County Library Board on May 14 discussed a proposed Fundraising Policy that would require prior board approval for events held on library property and impose documentation and reporting requirements on organizers. The policy prompted pushback from Friends groups and volunteers who said it would hamper routine fundraising and the nimbleness that nonprofit supporters provide.
