Brevard County extends moratorium on biosolids applications for another year
The commission voted unanimously to extend a county ordinance moratorium on biosolids applications enacted in 2019 for one more year, through July 2026; public commenters supported keeping PFAS-contaminated biosolids off certain floodplains.

Brevard County commissioners voted 5-0 on May 6 to adopt a one-year extension of a moratorium on biosolids application first enacted in 2019. The extension will keep the moratorium in place through July 2026.
