Senate approves higher interstate speed limit, streamlines speeding fines and authorizes variable-speed trials
The North Dakota Senate approved House Bill 1298, which raises the speed limit on I-94 and I-29 from 75 to 80 mph, reduces the number of speeding fine schedules from eight to two with new fee formulas, removes a provision allowing cities to double fines, and authorizes electronic variable-speed sign trials at selected crash-prone sites.
