The Hamblen County Commission tabled a beer-permit application for H & M Food Mart (applicant: Mr. Patel) on April 24 after commissioners and staff flagged inconsistent or incomplete information in the application.
During discussion, a commissioner noted the applicant listed his own address as the nearest residential dwelling while also naming a nearby church as the closest residential structure. The commission determined the application as filed contained conflicting information and recommended the applicant correct the form. A motion to approve the permit was withdrawn and a motion to table until the application is corrected passed.
Commissioners said the item will return to the board after the applicant submits a non-conflicting application and supporting documentation.
No final permit was granted at the meeting.
