Board approves three intergovernmental agreements for special services consortium

Graham County supervisors voted to approve three intergovernmental agreements between the county and local school districts that will continue the county’s participation in the Graham County Special Services Consortium.

Donna McGuy, the county school superintendent, presented the annual agreements. She said the consortium will continue to serve students through Dan Hinton School and provide services on partner campuses. Pima (a previously participating district) will retain its special-needs students under its own programs beginning in August, leaving three districts — Fort Thomas, Thatcher Unified and Bonita Elementary — in the county consortium for this school year.

The board approved the three IGAs by voice vote. Supervisors thanked consortium staff for the ongoing work and acknowledged employees’ efforts to deliver speech and other services across districts, including trips to Bonita that primarily deliver speech therapy several times per week.
