Strategic Initiatives Committee recommends RFP for village center lower‑level space

The Strategic Initiatives Committee on the evening reviewed a draft request for proposals to lease the lower‑level space in the village center and voted to recommend that the Village Board approve the RFP.

Rebecca, a presenter from village staff, said the draft RFP incorporated ideas discussed at the committee’s prior meeting and would be circulated not only to institutions already established in Shorewood — including the Senior Resource Center and the school district — but also to other community organizations that had expressed interest. "If there's additional parameters or guidance that the board would like to include within the RFP, I'm happy to take those comments," she said.

A committee member moved to recommend that the Village Board approve the RFP. The motion was seconded and the committee voted in favor. Committee members said the document was a standard RFP and asked staff to incorporate any final edits before sending it to the full board.

The committee took no additional action and adjourned. The recommended RFP will be considered at an upcoming Village Board meeting; the committee did not set a publication schedule at this session.
