Budget amendment adds $650,000 from Climate Commitment Act to fund carbon capture study by Carbon Quest
Staff briefed council on an SBO budget adjustment that adds a $650,000 revenue line from the Climate Commitment Act and a matching $650,000 expense to pay Carbon Quest for an engineering study due June 30. Staff said the study kickoff occurred in March and a final report is expected by the statutory deadline.

City staff said an SBO (supplemental budget ordinance) will adjust the 2025–26 budget to reflect $650,000 received from the Washington Climate Commitment Act for a carbon capture study to be performed by Carbon Quest.
