On April 21, 2025 the St. Pete Beach Planning Board voted 5-0 to find Ordinance 2025-12 consistent with the comprehensive plan and to recommend the cleanup ordinance to the City Commission.
Staff described the item as a technical cleanup: a 2015 amendment intended to add restaurants to a CG2 zoning district did not fully carry the permitted‑use text into the code, producing confusion about whether certain restaurants were allowed; and a 2017 amendment removed single‑family detached residential uses from a commercial mixed‑use district but left density‑section language that still references single‑family units. The draft resolves those inconsistencies to align permitted uses and density/intensity language with the comprehensive plan and the intent of the prior ordinances.
There were no substantive public comments and no extended debate. The board moved to recommend approval to the City Commission; the motion passed unanimously. The ordinance will be transmitted to the City Commission for final action.
