Planning staff updated the Burke County Planning Commission on the comprehensive plan update process and announced a second public workshop on Thursday, May 8 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Laura, a planning staff member, said the first public workshop on April 9 ran from about 2 to 4 p.m. and attracted roughly 15 to 20 attendees. Staff said attendees were engaged at workstations and provided input. The consulting team Berkeley Group will compile public comments from the workshops and use them to inform the comprehensive plan draft.
Staff encouraged broader participation at the evening workshop, noting that the later start time should allow more residents to attend. No formal action was taken; the item was an informational update.
