Worcester Civil Service Commission certifies three eligible lists

The Civil Service Commission of the City of Worcester on April 7, 2025, approved the March 10 meeting minutes and unanimously certified three eligible lists: firefighter EMT‑B/paramedic, fire lieutenant medic and property maintenance inspector.

The action took place during a brief virtual call meeting chaired by Reg Kramer, who led roll call and called each vote. Commissioners Susan Buckwalder and Steve Sly participated and voted in favor of the motions.

During the vote on the firefighter EMT‑B/paramedic eligible list, Commissioner Susan Buckwalder moved to certify the list and Commissioner Steve Sly seconded. Buckwalder said she was "glad to see so many candidates." Chairman Reg Kramer called for the ayes, and the commission approved the certification by voice vote. Kramer declared, "The motion carries."

For the fire lieutenant medic eligible list, the commission received information from the city in advance and moved to certify the list during the meeting. The motion to certify that list passed by voice vote with all members indicating "aye."

The commission then considered certification of the property maintenance inspector eligible list. Commissioner Susan Buckwalder moved to certify the list and Commissioner Steve Sly seconded. The commission approved the certification by voice vote.
