Waterloo Ridge Estates postponed for a month as developers, county work on paving plan

The Oklahoma County Planning Commission continued consideration of the preliminary plat for Waterloo Ridge Estates (PP-2025-02) to the May meeting after the applicant asked for additional time to work with geotechnical engineers on a paving solution.
Planning staff said the subdivision has existed partially built for several years under previous ownership; a new owner and the county have been coordinating on road and drainage issues. “The roads themselves, we think, are gonna have to be redone,” planning staff said, describing an approach in which the developer might construct homes on one half of the subdivision and then rebuild roads to county standards after construction.
Jessica Boyd of Johnson Associates, representing the applicant, told the commission her client “is still working with geotech engineers to come up with a paving solution. So we are requesting a 1 month continuance at this time just to continue to work on that.”
Staff said county engineers have reviewed the site and raised concerns about road conditions; the continuance will allow applicant and county engineers to present a revised plan addressing paving and drainage. The commission approved the continuance by roll call vote; the item will return for further review in May.
