Baker County assessor reports progress on reappraisal; commission approves ORMAP and CAP grant applications

Staff asked the commission to approve an ORMAP grant application to pay for control points that will bring county GIS layers and assessor parcel lines into closer alignment. The commission approved the ORMAP grant authorization for $35,000; county staff recorded a $10,000 local match retained from the 2024 budget.
Commissioners also approved submission of the Department of Revenue CAPA (assessment and taxation) grant application for the 2025–26 funding round, estimated at about $120,000. Assessor staff said the CAPA funding level depends on a separate bill that—if enacted—could increase recording fees and strengthen the program's funding in future years.
Both grant approvals were made by motion and recorded as "motion carries" in the meeting minutes; no roll-call vote was recorded in the meeting transcript.
