County plans EMS logging‑recorder and dispatch‑console upgrades using state interconnectivity funds

Todd Weaver presented two contract resolutions for emergency communications upgrades funded by the state interconnectivity fund: replacement of the logging recorder and an upgrade to the county's radio dispatch console system.
Weaver said the logging recorder—installed around 2019–20—will be refreshed and replaced to increase recording capacity and improve screen‑record capabilities. He said the console upgrade is a computer system dispatchers use to key radio transmissions and will replace equipment installed during consolidation; that project is shared with Lehigh County and paid from grants the county applied for and received. Weaver said Northampton County is the lead fiduciary on the console project and will operate the A and B side redundancies and back‑end equipment.
Committee members had an opportunity to ask questions; no vote or formal contract award was recorded during the Finance Committee meeting. Weaver's presentation noted both projects are shared with Lehigh County and financed from the state interconnectivity fund.
