At the April 15, 2025 meeting the White House Planning and Zoning Commission heard a package of administrative reports covering park planning, ongoing development work and staff recruitment.
A planning staff member said work on Park Meadows Unit 2 is progressing in the infrastructure phase and that once public infrastructure is improved, permits often follow quickly. The staff member said the city has two preliminary concept plans for Cheyenne Park and will hold a second public open house on April 24 to gather public input on the designs and a survey about preferences.
Staff also reported progress on the East Main project, noting interior primer is up and that interior work is advancing faster than exterior work. The commission heard that the city is actively recruiting for a building inspector; Jody Watson continues to fill the role on a contract basis.
Commissioners were told the city restructured code enforcement to sit under the police department as a civilian, non-sworn position. A current customer-service employee will move into that role when hired, staff said. The commission was also reminded there remains one opening on the Planning and Zoning Commission and was asked to help recruit candidates.
Other routine items included welcoming new commission member Miles McCrary and reminders that municipal offices will be closed April 18 for Good Friday and that the splash pad typically opens on Memorial Day.
