Board approves migration from BoardDocs to Diligent platform

The Normandy Schools Collaborative Board voted to migrate its board-management system from BoardDocs to Diligent Community.
Cecilia Rigsby, the executive assistant to the superintendent and board secretary, led the committee’s presentation and described functional improvements staff expect from the change, including mobile-friendly agenda access, one-click printing, improved meeting-notification tools, public transparency features and integrated livestream/captioning. "One thing the committee was excited about was it's mobile friendly," Rigsby said.
Rigsby told trustees BoardDocs’ annual fee had been "approximately $12,000" and that the Diligent upgrade would raise the annual cost by "a few thousand"; she said Diligent staff assured the district its content would migrate and that the vendor is coordinating a three-month transition plan with training cohorts. The board voted to approve the contract upgrade by roll-call vote after committee members recommended the change.
Why it matters: The tool is the public record for meeting agendas, minutes, policies and related board documents. Trustees and staff said the new features should reduce paper printing, improve public access and make it easier for the district to publish closed-captioned livestreams and meeting packets.
Vote details: The motion to approve the migration was made, seconded and approved by roll-call. Staff said the migration timeline targets the new school year and includes training for trustees, cabinet and school leaders.
