Greene County board approves 2025 audit resolution, schedules RFP for future auditor

Greene County board members at their annual meeting approved a resolution accepting the 2025 audit and agreed the auditor selection will return to the finance committee before the board issues an RFP.

The approval came after staff told the board the audit had no findings. “This is it's a very simple audit. It's a simple transaction. So no findings,” a staff member summarized before the vote. Board members then moved and approved the resolution during the voting session.

The board heard that the county has used the same auditing firm, EFPR, since inception under a contract that included a three-year base with two optional years. The staff report said the board had taken the final optional year for EFPR and that the current contract will expire at the end of this year. As a result, staff said the finance committee will review auditor options and recommend the auditor to the full board; staff will follow procurement policy and run an RFP to seek proposals.

Board members also approved routine housekeeping items during the annual meeting, including minutes from prior meetings and committee assignments. The finance committee and audit committee membership were stated on the record and accepted during the meeting.

The board did not receive any substantive audit findings and did not amend the audit report at the meeting. Staff said the finance committee will meet later this year to review the proposed budget and the procurement timeline for the auditor RFP.
