Commissioners approve bids, appointments, payroll claims and rezoning; multiple routine claims cleared

The Adams County Board of Commissioners approved a string of routine and substantive items during its January meeting, including a construction contract for a county bridge-and-road project, multiple payroll and accounts-payable claims, a county rezoning ordinance and several appointments and interlocal agreements.

The board voted to accept the low bid for Bridal (Bridge) 155 and authorized the county to sign contract documents for the project. Commissioners also approved several routine financial actions: accounts payable batches, weekly Allied health insurance claims and payroll claims and related payroll-associated claims (taxes, withholdings and benefits). The board accepted the animal control and animal-shelter reports on file and approved interlocal animal-care funding from the city of Berne for 2025.

In land-use action, the commissioners adopted Ordinance 2025-1 to rezone a 9.058-acre parcel at 7400 N. Monmouth Road from Agricultural (A) to R-3 (Mobile Home Park) after the advisory plan commission recommended approval. The county also authorized publication and a future public…
