The ordinance replaces older language with clarified testing procedures and exemptions and includes a process for special permits. Commissioners said the update aligns local rules with current measurement practices and gave staff authority to implement the testing protocols in enforcement situations.
Town staff told the commission that the draft ordinance circulated for public review did not change from first reading and that no new amendments were proposed at second reading. The measure passed on a roll-call vote and will be codified when the effective date specified in the ordinance arrives.
