The Butler County Board of Commissioners approved the hiring of Curtis Neely as the building and electrical manager at an annual salary of $75,000, effective Feb. 26, 2025. Commissioners also authorized staff to advertise an RFP (Development2020531) to solicit proposals for an electronic building permit application, plan submission and review system; proposals are due by April 11, 2025.
County staff said the RFP seeks a vendor that can operate as an Exela platform partner to enable real‑time plan review across county departments (building and zoning, public health, engineer’s office) and municipalities with local zoning. The system is intended to give applicants access to real‑time reviewer notes and expedite departmental coordination.
The development director and assistant county administrator have worked on the RFP; commissioners approved both personnel and procurement actions as presented.
