Page County engineer reports bridge work progress; board approves final pay voucher

JD King, Page County engineer, reported routine winter and spring work and a bridge substructure placement and asked the board to approve a final pay voucher for a bridge project.

“It's a fine winter day, I guess, in Page County,” King said, and described crews rolling rock, working on washboards and intersection locations, hauling rock, cutting trees and removing snow fence along J20 now that the ground has thawed. He said the county has been rotating snow plows for maintenance and that one tandem truck was returning from Omaha.

King updated the board on a bridge project at North Cofferdam: “The pier column was poured last Wednesday. I'm skeptical if they get another concrete placement in this week based on the weather forecast, but they got one more concrete placement on the substructure as the North Pier cap.” He said once that element cures two spans of beams will be placed.

King also noted shop and equipment work and that the county plans to auction surplus items using Purple Wave, an online auction service. He asked the board to approve signing a final pay voucher for the bridge project identified in the meeting as "MBRS CHBP c 0 '70 '3 pairing '1 '20 '3 -- GB -- '70 '3".

A motion to approve signing the final pay voucher was made and seconded; the board voted “Aye” and the motion passed. The meeting record does not name the mover or seconder.
