Commissioners highlight Washington advocacy, infrastructure projects and courthouse construction

"We met with Senator Britt's and Tuberville's office, we met with Barry Moore's office, we met with Mike Rogers' office," Commissioner Ball said, adding the county engineer, Frank Lundy, presented projects and generated interest among representatives. Ball thanked Lundy and staff for their work and said the delegation also traveled to Montgomery to pursue state-level meetings.
Commissioner Ball gave a project update for Bay Minette courthouse-area construction, including a new district attorney's office at the former Builder's Hardware block, an atrium project on the courthouse front, and a sally port addition. He asked the public to expect limited parking and to be patient during the multi-year construction work.
Commissioner Underwood, returning from the national conference, said Alabama had a strong delegation at the National Association of Counties meeting and praised county staff for their competence. Other commissioners offered local community notes, including an obituary notice and a local farm equipment auction in Barnwell.
No formal action accompanied these reports; the comments were informational and intended to update residents on county outreach and construction activity.
