The proposed budget also includes a funding line to develop a countywide organics recycling program with drop‑off locations, modeled after the City of Elk River.
The Solid Waste Advisory Committee reviewed the proposed line‑item budget and recommended approval. Upon approval, staff said they would solicit quotes from haulers to service organics dumpsters.
The motion to approve the 2025 solid waste line‑item budget and authorize staff to advertise grant opportunities was moved by Commissioner Danielowski, seconded by Commissioner Felber, and approved by the board.
Next steps: staff will solicit hauler quotes for the organics program, and the county will begin program development in collaboration with the City of Elk River.
