GROSSE ILE, Mich. — The Grosse Ile Township Public Service Commission on Feb. 11 received an update on a water reliability and asset‑management study and preliminary financing options for multi‑year water main replacement.
Township Manager Derek told the commission the consulting work on the asset‑management plan and reliability study remains in review; engineers have presented a long list of potential projects and staff and field crews are refining priorities based on field knowledge of recent breaks and operating conditions. Derek said an earlier, high‑level estimate of roughly $45 million of needs has been narrowed to nearer $20–25 million as the team refines scope and timelines.
