Council members appointed Ashley Yeomans to the position of economic development director during the Jan. 16 meeting.
A council member moved to appoint Yeomans and another member seconded; the motion passed unanimously when the council voted “all in favor” during the work session. Council members present who registered votes on the record included Mayor Pro Tem Jimmy First, Council members John Mesa, Leslie Robson, Paul Stovall and Elmer Wythe. No dissenting votes were recorded in the transcript.
Staff welcomed Yeomans; no additional terms, compensation details or contract language were read into the work-session record. The staff memo noted that certain administrative appointments (judges, solicitors and similar positions) will require corresponding contracts under recent Georgia law changes and would be handled as part of the regular agenda on Tuesday.
