Dickinson County approves Conditional Use Permit for The Willows event venue

The planning staff presentation named the parcel generally as Section 6, Township 15 South, Range 2 East and said the CUP was requested by Michael and Stacy (last name not specified in the hearing record). The applicants and their representative described prior private use of the building for weddings and estimated their maximum capacity at roughly 240–250 attendees; they said parking is available on the property’s roughly 28 acres and that they had previously handled parking and wayfinding signage for private events.
Commissioners asked about capacity, parking, and required safety upgrades. Planning staff and the applicants said the applicants are working with the fire district to add required exit signs and other items before fully opening. The county clerk will provide the applicants a signed copy of the permit and county staff said they will coordinate outstanding consultations (fire district, environmental services, emergency management) before full operations begin.
