YUKON, Okla. — A Yukon board recommended edits to the municipal code governing mobile homes, travel trailers and parks to correct conflicting terms and update lighting references.
Staff said the amendment would revise Chapter 210 (Mobile Homes and Trailers), including Article 1 (General) Section 2-10-5 (Use of freestanding mobile home or travel trailer as a residence on tract 5 acres or more), Article 3 (Mobile home, RV and travel trailer parks) Division 1 (Generally), and Section 2-10-105 (Exterior lighting requirements), to replace obsolete references to a “conditional use permit” with the city’s current permitting term, “special use permit,” and to tidy other inconsistent language.
Staff described the changes as code cleanup: the city formerly used conditional use permits but transitioned to special use permits, and the mobile‑home ordinance still contained older terminology. The board’s discussion focused on ensuring the correct permitting mechanism is reflected in the code; members noted the staff catch and proceeded without extended debate.
A motion to recommend approval of the proposed amendments was made and seconded. The board voted unanimously to forward the recommended changes for final action.
