ODOT approves multiple engineering contracts, including preliminary studies for I‑40 and State Highway 51 projects

The Oklahoma Transportation Commission approved Item 18, a package of engineering contracts that included statewide on‑demand service pools and several project‑specific agreements.

ODOT staff said the statewide on‑demand selections include community engagement, state bridge rehabilitation, ADA improvements, and bridge inspection services. Selected firms named in the presentation included Freese and Nichols, Garver, Stantec, WSB and others for the various on‑demand service pools.

ODOT also presented several project‑specific preliminary engineering contracts. For a project in District 4, Canadian County (I‑40 from the Caddo County line to Radio Road), the department selected CPNY Incorporated for preliminary engineering studies with a contract value not to exceed $2,212,515; the right‑of‑way phase was noted as included in the eight‑year construction work plan with a scheduled let date in federal fiscal year 2031. In District 7 (Caddo County), Grossman and Keith Engineering Company was selected for plant specifications and estimates for three bridge replacements with a not‑to‑exceed value of $1,238,236; those projects are scheduled in the eight‑year plan with let dates in federal fiscal years 2031 and 2032. In District 8 (Tulsa County), Garver LLC was selected for preliminary engineering on State Highway 51 from 61st Street to the junction of SH‑351 with a contract value not to exceed $1,903,710; right‑of‑way is included in the eight‑year plan with an FY2031 let date.

"We recommend approval," Mr. Hernandez said. Commissioners moved, seconded and approved the package.

The department said the project‑specific contracts will support preliminary engineering and right‑of‑way planning tied to the eight‑year construction work plan; contract values and scheduled federal fiscal year letting windows were provided in the presentation.
