Committee approves bill clarifying life-insurance exclusions for active-duty service members
The Georgia House Insurance Committee passed House Bill 182, which clarifies that being on active military duty alone is not a valid reason to deny a group life insurance claim, a sponsor said. The change was made at the request of the Department of Insurance and passed by voice vote.

Chairman Tarvin presented House Bill 182 to the Georgia House Insurance Committee and said the measure clarifies that active-duty military status alone is not a valid basis to deny a group life insurance claim. "All this bill does is makes it clear that being on active duty in and of itself is not a reason to deny a claim," Chairman Tarvin said.
