The Arkansas Senate adopted Senate Resolution 1 to honor Saint Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro for being the first medical facility in the state to open a maternal Life360 program.
Senator Sandra Sullivan, joined on the floor by Senator Wallace, said Saint Bernard’s program supports women with high-risk pregnancies who are enrolled in the state’s Medicaid programs (Arkansas Health and Opportunity for Me and traditional Medicaid) by providing home-visit services during pregnancy and for up to two years postpartum. Sullivan thanked representatives from Saint Bernard who were in the gallery.
Senators adopted the resolution by voice vote; the chair announced "Ayes have it. Senate Resolution 1 is adopted." The resolution is honorary and recognizes the hospital’s program but does not direct funding or statutory change.
Senator Sullivan said the chamber was "really proud of them" and encouraged the chamber to support maternal-health efforts in their regions.
