Park County commissioners approved a request from Buffalo Bill High School FFA to place a student-built bench on the courthouse grounds as a community-service project.
County clerk staff and building-and-grounds reviewed potential locations on the courthouse property and recommended allowing the bench with a final placement to be determined by building-and-grounds staff. Commissioners suggested moving the bench seasonally if necessary and discussed placing it where it would be visible for parade season.
A commissioner moved and the board approved the request on a voice vote. The county clerk said staff would contact the FFA about placement and storage plans.
Why it matters: the decision allows a student-led community project on county property and delegates placement and seasonal storage logistics to building-and-grounds staff.
What to expect: building-and-grounds will pick an appropriate location and notify the FFA when placement can proceed.
