Choctaw County’s E‑911 director updated the commission on an intermittent internet/NCIC connectivity problem traced to damaged wiring chewed by an animal. Telecommunications technicians replaced the damaged cable and the director said the connectivity interruptions have ceased since the repair.
The director said the 911 center is one dispatcher short of full staffing but is otherwise operating. One shift currently runs with a single, experienced dispatcher. The director said he is pursuing additional funding from partner agencies to fill the vacancy and will continue recruiting.
The E‑911 director thanked commissioners for authorizing staff to fill positions and said upgrades made at the center are helping operations run smoothly.
Ending: Director will continue recruitment and pursue funding and will report back on staffing and any future connectivity issues.
