James V. Brown Library highlights technology access, passport services and year-round programs

Amy Resch, chief executive officer and director of the James V. Brown Library, told Williamsport City Council on Jan. 30 that the downtown library is increasingly a community technology hub and program center.
Resch said the library’s public-access computers were used for 9,058 sessions in 2024 and that the library hosted about 600 programs for children, teens and adults last year. “Our public access computers were used for 9058 sessions,” she said. She also said the library recorded more than 100,000 visits in 2024 and that about 42% of Williamsport residents hold library cards.
