Votes at a glance: Hamilton County commissioners approve grant commitments, contracts and appointments

Hamilton County commissioners met Jan. 27 and on unanimous voice votes approved a series of motions covering grants, contracts, personnel appointments and administrative reports.

Major approvals included the county’s commitment letter for a Community Crossings pavement preservation project on Colonial Road (project construction cost $3,020,000 with a local funding commitment of $1,520,000); a community development block grant (CDBG) funding agreement with the City of Carmel totaling $429,271.81 for storm-drain and sidewalk work in the Almond Newark neighborhoods; and authorization of an SRF disbursement form tied to a January 8, 2025 invoice for $772,467.47.

Other approvals recorded by the board included acceptance of the Board of Finance report from Susan Byers; authorization of a liability-trust payment of $3,948.38 to Miller’s Auto Body for repairs to a privately owned vehicle struck by a county employee’s vehicle; a new public-defender contract substitution naming Jasmine Armstrong; routine purchases (a copier for the health department and Verizon annual agreement and eligible-device upgrade purchase orders for the sheriff’s office); and miscellaneous administrative reports (clerk’s monthly report, treasurer’s monthly report, payroll and vendor claims, and acceptance of bonds/letters of credit).
