BROOKFIELD, Ill. — The Village of Brookfield board voted unanimously on Jan. 27 to approve a text amendment to Chapter 62 (Zoning), Section 62-217 (Stationary Districts General Design).
Trustee Gaohulli moved to pass the ordinance and Trustee Hendricks seconded. Planning and Zoning had considered the change and recommended it to the board; staff said the village was the petitioner and that acting promptly would avoid slowing an associated development project.
Tim (village staff) told the board, "There is a time issue here. With the development project that is holding — this could hold up if we don't. If the board doesn't vote on it tonight... If you vote for it yes, then we will not slow down the development process." The board had previously discussed the amendment at Committee of the Whole and had staff and Planning & Zoning memos in the meeting packet.
The ordinance passed on a roll-call vote. No amendments were recorded in the meeting minutes for the ordinance and no public testimony about the zoning amendment appears in the hearing record.
