BGS updates multiple building projects, DCF stabilization facility plans and statewide EV charger rollout

Buildings and General Services director Joe Ajah briefed the Senate Institutions Committee on Jan. 23 about a range of capital projects and program spending across state facilities.

Public art and facilities: Ajah said the Arts Council administers the state public‑art program in coordination with the commissioner of BGS. For fiscal year 2024, Ajah said approximately $75,000 was appropriated for art at state facilities, and the council has broadened eligible locations to include certain mental‑health and disability facilities as well as traditional office buildings. Ajah said the selection committee, convened by the Arts Council, will choose specific pieces and locations.
