Speakers highlighted the departing surveyor's mentorship of newer staff and the expansion of technology and services during his tenure. Webb told the board he appreciated the opportunity and looked forward to working with county departments.
The appointment is interim while the county proceeds with a competitive recruitment process. The board directed administration to administer the oath and finalize start details; staff indicated the oath will be taken on Webb's first workday.
No additional directives or policy changes were made as part of the appointment; the motion simply formalized the interim staffing decision so surveyor responsibilities continue uninterrupted.
