The Texas House of Representatives adopted Senate Concurrent Resolution 7 on a recorded vote during opening-day proceedings, permitting the Legislature to adjourn for more than three days during the period beginning Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025, and ending Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2025. The House also authorized the speaker to appoint two seven-member committees to notify the Senate and the governor that the House is organized and prepared to transact business and scheduled consideration of a housekeeping resolution.
