Realty Mobility expands hours, plans on‑demand 'flash' service for Bee County

Crystal Gonzales, mobility manager with Realty Mobility Management Department, told commissioners on Jan. 13 that the county’s public transportation hours have been extended and a new on‑demand pilot service will be funded for Bee County.
"Our service hours have expanded from Monday to Friday from 5 AM to 8 PM," Gonzales said. She said the system’s new on‑demand "Flash" pilot (described to commissioners as similar to an Uber‑style service) began in two test zones in December and that funding has been awarded to extend the service to Bee County, with an expected start after March. Gonzales told the court riders can expect same‑day trips within the pilot zone with pickup within about 30 minutes; fares were described as low (the presenter cited $2 as an example for short trips).
Commissioners noted the service will benefit dialysis and medical riders and college students and reiterated the transit reservation number provided by Gonzales: 361‑668‑3158. County officials said they are coordinating a planned transportation center and environmental/neighborhood review; county staff said additional details, including zone maps and an official start date for the Bee County pilot, will be provided when available.
No formal county action was required; the presentation was made during public comment and commissioners asked staff to continue coordination with the transit provider.
