Owasso board approves architects for two Bond 2025 projects and hears construction progress

Superintendent Margaret Coats said district leaders selected Stacy Group after interviews and that the supplemental contracts will allow the district to produce renderings and informational materials for the upcoming bond vote. "We wanted to make sure we got the architect on board for these projects...so we'll be able to have them on our websites and things," Coats said.
Why it matters: the supplemental schedules were described as contingent on voter approval of Bond 2025; district staff said the contracts build on a master agreement approved in 2022 and are intended to provide clearer visuals and cost estimates for public outreach before the election. Board members approved both supplemental schedules by roll call.
Construction updates included a near-complete track (electrical, fencing and surfacing largely finished), progress on restroom and band-building interiors, and work on a new cafeteria "safe structure" where walls were rising on-site. District services director Kerner said the track's final line striping had been delayed by cold weather but expected to be completed soon; he also described two layers of fencing — an exterior perimeter and a fence immediately surrounding the track — as design and safety choices.
The board approved the Stacy Group Supplemental Schedule 4 for the 7th-grade safe structure and soccer complex and Supplemental Schedule 5 for the West Campus performing-arts center. Votes were taken by roll call with the board recording affirmative votes.
Looking ahead: district staff said the renderings and materials produced under these contracts will be used in public information meetings and on the district website as Bond 2025 outreach ramps up in the weeks before the election.
